Newsletter Nov 2018

The next exam and medal sessions are booked in for Sunday February 10th and Sunday April 28th and our Academy show Another Opening Another Show is at Hinckley Concordia Theatre June 6th,7th & 8th with rehearsals at the theatre as normal on either the Tuesday or Wednesday 4th and 5th June. As the show comes after the May break we have decided to hold dress rehearsals the week prior to the May break in case students are away on holiday. This will be during their normal class lessons starting Tuesday 21st May bringing costumes each night for the troupes that they are taking part in. Every class will have a routine in the show except the baby acro, modelling and festival classes We will need show deposits for costumes to be sent in by no later than Saturday February 9th …£8 per troupe please (except performing arts classes where we normally ask you to do your own costumes to help with costs). Please can you let me know if your child is not taking part in the show as we have started show troupes this week and it helps with spacing etc if we know which children are not taking part as early as possible. Any children not taking part will not be left out in class and will still learn the troupes as this is all good practice for performance skills.

We are very excited about having ex student Lily Frazer who has performed in many West End shows including, Les Miserables, Cats, In the Heights and most recently Dreamgirls back at WMA . Lily has agreed to do 6 Sunday workshops , one each month starting Sunday December 2nd from 10.00a.m – 12.00p.m . Students taking part in these workshops will do a routine in the Academy show but no deposit is required for this at the moment. If you want a place on these workshops which are going to be fantastic please put your name on the notice board or inbox/email me a.s.a.p. Lily will also be offering some private coaching after the workshops as well to anyone wanting any singing coaching, audition technique or festival solos etc. again let me know if are interested so I can book you in.

Next year the 4 week holiday allowance will be taken in July. This will make things so much easier with registers etc. Therefore all weeks should be paid for whether attended or not except we will close next year year for one week during the Easter break also no fees for show week and we close 2 weeks for Christmas holidays and in July although we will remain open we will not take any fees for 4 weeks. Please remember that no discount can be given to people who are more than 2 weeks in arrears. All the information you should need on festivals, exams, show rehearsals, costumes etc can be found on our website … www.wendymortonacademy.co.uk which is currently being updated so look forward to a new website in the new year. Please ask for passwords for the website at the studio or message me.

Studio closes after classes on Friday December 21st and reopens January 5th 2019 A big thank you to all my teachers, assistant teachers and helpers and to all parents for your continued support to make this Academy so successful. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
